Targus is tackling one of the most frustrating laptop issues: overheating. Today the company announced five new cooling products, including its Chill Mat, Chill Mat XC, Chill Hub XC, CoolWave, and Stow-N-Go Chill Mat. Equipped with dual USB-powered fans, Targus’ Chill Mat for Laptops is designed for 15.6-inch laptops and protects your lap without the need for an external power adapter. The Mat will be available in the coming weeks for $29.99. For larger laptops (up to 17 inches), Targus has the Chill Mat XC and the Chill Hub XC, both which allow users to adjust the speeds of the dual fans. The Chill Hub XC offers a integrated four-USB hub.  The Chill Mat XC and Chill Hub XC will retail for $39.99 and $54.99, respectively. For those that prefer a simpler and cheaper heat-fighting option Targus’ CoolWave is a stylish laptop stand that allows for airflow and protects your desk or table from any heat-related damage. Supporting laptops with up to 17-inch displays, this lightweight stand holds your computer power cord in place even when the laptop is removed. The CoolWave is expected to retail for $19.99. And there’s more … The Stow-N-Go Chill Mat is for the mobile professionals, offering portable cooling and built-in cable storage for easy stowing. The expandable design allows users to have a full-size Chill Mat with travel-size portability and powered by USB for added convenience. The Stow-N-Go Chill Mat will be $24.99. All of Targus’ new cooling stands should be solid options for your lap-warming notebook; we just wish they didn’t have to exist in the first place.
